New Chinese Algorithm Boosts NVIDIA GPU Performance by Up to 800 Times
Researchers from Moscow State University and the Beijing Institute of Technology have developed a new algorithm capable of drastically enhancing the performance of NVIDIA graphics cards in complex simulations. The innovation, named PD-General, optimizes the processing of calculations related to peridynamics, a non-local theory used to model fractures and damage in materials.
The algorithm is set to revolutionize multiple industries that rely on detailed material simulations, such as aerospace, civil engineering, and defense. By enabling simulations that previously required supercomputers to run on consumer-grade GPUs, PD-General could significantly accelerate and reduce the costs of developing new materials and structures.
